{OOTD} Pink Animal Print Scarf

Hey divas!! I wanted to do a quick post of how I wore the pink animal print scarf that I bought from Charming Charlie for $3 last week Friday. I absolutely LOVE this scarf. I was originally going to rock the turban look but decided otherwise. I wanted to try something different, so I just tied a bow in the front and wore it to the side. I thought it was so cute. I got a lot of sideway looks and a few whispers “Oh that’s cute” and “That’s different” today. I could care less of what people say, I thought I rocked the heck outta my scarf. I didn’t put too much into my outfit I just threw on an old denim dress that I had (no clue where it’s from) and brown flat sandals. I wanted to be as comfortable as possible because it was like 107 degrees out. I really didn’t get a full body shot of my outfit but I hope you enjoy the way I rocked my new fave scarf.

**I’m wearing a new lipstick I got from Wally World (Wal-Mart) for $1.72 by NYC. It’s called Caramel. I like it because of its neutral color. The only negative is that my lips got dry after an hour of wear. I just added a gloss overlay and that fixed the problem quick.**

{My Life} Girls Weekend with my Rollie

Hey chubby divas!!! Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend like I did. My favorite cousin, Marlana, came to visit me from home (Milwaukee) for her birthday and we had a blast. This weekend was full of relaxation, fun, good eatn’, and of course…SHOPPING. My boys were with dad this weekend and let me tell ya’ I had the time of my life. As a parent any little break is well deserving and should be spent doing whatever it is you love to do.

Anyhoo, Friday was Spa Day. We enjoyed a relaxing rub down at Massage Heights. We got the 1-hour massage special for $50, a hot towel/cold stone facial, and a peppermint foot scrub. Oooh wee…it felt so good to be pampered especially with my homie. Our spa treatment was so relaxing we actually fell asleep. It was so funny because the massage therapist had to come wake us up. *LOL* I would highly recommend you lovely chubby divas to go treat yourself to a spa day. Don’t let your size discourage you. Hunny, fat people like to be pampered too. Shoot, me and my cousin stripped down to our panties and wasn’t ashamed of our fat rolls. We enjoyed our body rub very much. <Sorry, no pics>

After our spa treatment we enjoyed lunch at Jason’s Deli. I love Jason’s. I’ve practically had everything on the menu being  that my job is right across the street from one. We finished our lunch and head over to Charming Charlie's and enjoyed their $5 clearance sale on selected handbags, shoes, and apparel. We racked up, OKAY! I even got some rockin’ accessories & scarf on clearance with an additional 50% off at the register. We bought so much that my cousin had to ship her stuff home through UPS because she had no room in her suitcase (plus she didn’t want to pay extra on the already outrageous baggage fee at the airport).

Saturday was the highlight of our Girls Weekend. We had the best breakfast ever at The Breakfast Klub in downtown Houston. I had the wings and waffles with a White Raspberry Mocha. Oh so delicious! If you’re ever in Houston you have to eat at this spot. Very popular…if you don’t believe me Google it (rave reviews & great hotspot). We even had the pleasure of sitting across from Andre Johnson of the NFL Houston Texans (well he was seated at the next table on the side of us). Even Wendy Williams was there recently (she went when she visited Houston last Wednesday) *How you doin’?*

After the great breakfast we headed over to one of our biggest Forever 21 stores downtown off of Main St. I was in heaven (Forever 21 is one of my fave stores). I was definitely in hyperventilation mode *LOL*. And it was tax free weekend too. Girl, please! I did shop sensibly because my main goal was to finish getting the boys ready for school which started this Monday (got a 1st grader & preschooler); therefore, I didn’t buy too much for myself but I did treat myself to a few things. Next we hit up the Galleria Mall, which is a spot where they have lots of luxury shopping; such as Prada, Gucci, Chanel, Michael Kors, Tiffany's etc. They have regular stores for regular people, like me, too. Of course, we drooled over the stuff we definitely could not afford. She wanted to see the Galleria area so I showed her just that. Later on that night we went out and we partied like it was no tomorrow. We were definitely chocolate wasted *LOL*

Sunday, we went to the Houston Premium Outlets where we browsed and I finished school shopping for the boys. Definitely got some great deals there. After shopping we enjoyed Boudreaux Cajun Kitchen. Oh wow is all I can say. You really get your money’s worth here. I got the Catfish Po’boy & Fried Pickles. Delish!

Monday we relaxed and did nothing because it was the 1st day of school for my boys so I had to get back in mommy mode. My cousin rested while I took care of business and later the evening she was set to leave for home. I truly miss her already because that’s my ro’dawg. Gosh…I miss my entire family Sad smile.  Anyhoo, I had a very eventful weekend. I hope you enjoyed this very long post. I also uploaded a 2 part shopping haul video to my YouTube channel (you have to check it out-got some super cute stuff).

{OOTD} Voodoo & Mixed Prints

Hey ladies!!! I wanted to share with you a quick outfit post. This is what I wore Wednesday. If you follow me on Twitter (@chubbydivanique) then you know that I tweeted that this dress I’m wearing fit like butta baby. And it did. I absolutely LOVE this dress, especially the way it camouflages my tummy. It’s by Miss Tina and I only paid $18 for it at Wal-Mart. Yes, ladies I said Wal-Mart. I bought it awhile ago, so I’m not sure if it’s still available. Miss Tina has a a very nice collection. I like the shape & style of her line and how well it fits. You should really check it out. **For those of you that don’t know Miss Tina is Beyoncé's mom.**

I actually wore this dress before in this post <Outfit of the Day: My $18 Dress>. This time I added a black cami and my favorite leopard print scarf as a belt. When I first put this mix together I was a bit skeptical because I’m usually a plain Jane. But I’m slowly coming out of my shell. I must have done something right because I was getting compliments all day.

On my face, I’m wearing a tint moisturizer by e.l.f Cosmetics (Eyes Lips Face). I only paid $3 for it at Target. It’s very light and smooth. Perfect for light coverage day wear. I’m wearing the darkest shade which is Tan. On my lips, I’m wearing a lipstick by e.l.f Cosmetics called Voodoo. I only paid $1 for it at Target. It’s a neutral shade with a reddish tint. It’s a cream based lipstick that stayed on for a long time. I only had to reapply twice (each time was after I ate). I think it’s a pretty decent lipstick for the price I paid.

Well, that is all for now. Nothing special has happened these past few days. I’m dating now and honestly that’s not going the way I thought it would. Dating can be tough, especially when you have children. If you’re overprotective, like me, when dating as a single parent you have to be 10x as cautious. Let me tell ya’ there are a lot of jerks out here. Nobody wants to court or get to know you anymore. It’s all about sex, sex, and more sex. What has this world come to? I’m huge on romance but apparently I didn’t get the memo that says that romance is dead. I’m ready to settle down and experience real love. I’m going to continue to pray on it. The Lord will bless me with someone just for me one day. Until then, I don’t know….

Stay beautiful & chubby!!!

{OOTD} Russian Red Lips & Floral Tribal Print

I am on a serious roll. I’ve been posting back-to-back for the past few days. I can get used to this *let’s not jinx it*. Ok…Guess what I wore to work today?…Yes, ladies another dress. I am oh so feeling dresses right now. I mean I’ve always loved dresses, but I’ve never worn them back-to-back within the same week. I actually didn’t realize how many dress options I had until now. Dresses are so simple & girly, which I love. I don’t know about you but I feel sexy in a dress.

The dress that I wore today is from F21+ (Forever 21). I bought it around March so I’m pretty sure it’s not available anymore. I wore this dress before in a previous post <What I Wore Today: Tribal Print Dress >. It’s actually the dress that I have on in the banner of this blog too. This time I added a black cami underneath, black cropped cardigan, and black flats. I added some simple accessories from F21 as well. And I carried the camel colored purse that I’ve been carrying for almost 2 weeks now (I know, I know…it’s time to switch it up but I can’t help it, I love this bag). Once again my hair did not stay curled *damn humidity* which sucks because it was so cute this morning.

Anyhoo, my day started out crazy as hell. I had to register my son for school let me tell ya’ they put me through all types of hoops. You have to register every year here in Houston (of course I did not know this because we’re not from here) which sucks big time. When I got to the school this morning I was given a packet full of info to complete. Ok…done with that…Then they needed proof of address, birth certificate, and blah blah blah. Ok fine…done. Then they asked for a copy of the lease and getting documents notarized. What the hell!?! All of this for Elementary school. After all of the stuff they asked for you would think you were enrolling in college or something. I was running around all morning. Luckily, everything turned out fine *Phew!*

If you have kids, did you have to go through all of this mess just to enroll them in school? Do you have to enroll/register them every year like you do here in Houston?

Stay beautiful & positive!
